HRD Ministry Forms a Panel for NEET & JEE exam conduction

A committee has been set up with Director General National Testing Agency & other members and after analyzing the situation due to the COVID 19, they will submit their report to the HRD minister by Friday i.e. on July 3, 2020. The final announcement regarding the NEET, & JEE dates will be made only after the submission of the report of the panel set up by the Human Resource & Development. The committee set up for the examination dates of the NEET & JEE will review the prevailing conduction of the COVID 19 pandemic in the safety regard.

Thus after the submission of the report by the committee, students will be able to know about the examination dates of these awaited most awaited entrance tests. HRD Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank mentioned about the requests that he is receiving continuously from the students’ side for the postponement of the examination in the current scenario when the number of Coronavirus cases is rapidly increasing. Hence HRD Minister insists on deferring the entrance test of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test & Joint Entrance Examination.

There are more than 9 lakhs students who have been registered for JEE Main while around 16 lakhs students will appear in the NEET entrance test that will take place in upcoming dates. If the committee set up for monitoring the prevailing situation of the COVID 19 pandemic in the country, exam dates are postponed, the session for the first-year students will be delayed greatly. However, UGC also proposed the new academic calendar in the month of September. Our priority is the safety of the students who are going to appear in the NEET & JEE Entrance Test. We have set up the committee that will recommend how and when the exams can take place,” Pokhriyal said on Thursday.
